Homemaker cheated of Rs. 1 lakh

November 6, 2022

Mysore/Mysuru: In yet another incident of cheating on the promise of getting job, a home maker of the city reportedly lost Rs. 1 lakh to a conman who promised her of getting her an Anganwadi job. P. Roopa, aged 29 years, a resident of Siddiquinagar, is the one who lost money.

Roopa got introduced to one Rehman of Doddakanya in Nanjangud taluk through her friend Sneha about 6 months ago, when Rehman told her that he would get her an Anganwadi job as he knew top officials of the Women and Child Welfare Department and asked to give him Rs. 1 lakh as Commission for the same. Believing Rehman, Roopa gave him Rs. 1 lakh. But as days passed by, Roopa, who failed to get the job, got suspicious and called Rehman over his mobile phone and sought return of Rs. 1 lakh which she had paid to him. But Rehman in turn, abused her in foul language, following which Roopa lodged a complaint with the jurisdictional N.R. Police.
