Horse provided for training sold by trainer

December 26, 2022

Mysore/Mysuru:  A race horse trainer, who was entrusted to train the horse, has allegedly sold the horse without the owner’s knowledge and a case has been registered at Nazarbad Police Station.

The horse named ‘Vijay Falcon’ belonged to 44-year-old G.K. Keshavamurthy of Bengaluru and the trainer, who has been accused of selling the horse is Joseph B. Avle.

A realtor, Keshavamurthy had registered nine horse including four-year-old Vijay Falcon (Absolute Star) in Mysore Race Club in the name of Vijay Empire Farmer Pvt. Ltd. He had purchased ‘Vijay Falcon’ from a Mumbai Company in Mar. 29 and had registered it in MRC on Apr. 27 and had given the horse to Joseph to train it besides giving him the entry and scratch form signed by him (Keshavamurthy) and affixed with a seal.

In the meantime, one M. Aravindaraj had held talks with Keshavamurthy for the purchase of the horse and Keshavamurthy had agreed to sell the horse, but he (Keshavamurthy) had not signed the sale form.

In his complaint, Keshavamurthy has stated that during the race on Dec. 7, while providing the details of Falcon, the name of the Aravindaraj was mentioned as the name of the owner and when the Race Club officials enquired about it, they were told that trainer Joseph was given the authority to sell the horse and produced the documents with his (Keshavamurthy) signature.

Keshavamurthy, who has claimed that the signature in the document was not his but a forged signature, has accused Joseph of selling the horse by forging his signature and lodged a complaint. Nazarbad Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
