Hostel workers to stage protest in Bengaluru on June 13

June 11, 2017

Mysuru: Opposing the State Government’s decision to directly appoint ‘D’ Group Employees at student hostels and residential schools run by the Backward Classes Welfare Department, hostel workers under the banner of Karnataka State Hostel and Residential Schools Outsourced Employees Association will stage a demonstration at Freedom Park in Bengaluru on June 13.

Strongly opposing the Government’s decision, the hostel workers said that the Government’s decision to go for direct appointment will severely affect the workers who have been serving for years for lesser wage.

The protest has been organised against the possible replacement of thousands of cooks, assistant cooks and security guards employed in hostels, residential schools and colleges since the last two decades.

The protesters will leave for Bengaluru by train on the night of June 12 from Mysuru Railway Station. For details, call Mob: 94497-90410 / 97310-23313.
