Road here on Monday.
Top Police officers under whose directions a successful Dasara was held were felicitated by the Association and Mysuru Hotel Owners Charitable Trust. City Police Commissioner Dr. Chandragupta, DCP M.S. Geetha Prasanna, ACPs M.N. Shashidhar, M. Shivashankar, S.E. Gangadharaswamy, Ashwathnarayan and Parashuramappa were honoured on the occasion.
Accepting the felicitation, Dr. Chandragupta said that Mysuru Dasara was a grand event that lifts the image of Mysuru and helps industries, small-time businessmen, roadside vendors, tourism, travel and hospitality sectors to garner maximum revenues.
“Generally, all eyes will be on the smooth conduct of the festival with additional security and safety measures. With blessings of Goddess Chamundeshwari, with the cooperation of political leaders, businessmen and traders of Mysuru, staff and officers from all departments and the contributions of the common man, this year’s grand festival has passed off smoothly,” he said adding that his department is indebted for the honour bestowed on them and the full credit of conducting the festival must go to the subordinate officers and staff who executed all decisions on the ground.
Speakers from the Association complimented the Police for conducting Dasara without even a single lapse or confusion.
The Police Commissioner suggested that the Hotel Owners Association must come forward to erect permanent water barricades around the Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Circle (Hardinge Circle) to enhance the beauty instead of the temporary barricades that have been laid now. This will enhance the beauty of the Circle and at the same time will prompt other associations to come forward to take up similar issues, he said.
Mysuru Hotel Owners Association President C. Narayanagowda, Secretary A.R. Ravindra Bhat, Charitable Trust President Ravishastri, Secretary Subramanya R. Tantri, Mahesh Kamat and other office-bearers were present on the occasion.
