Mysuru: Mysuru City Hoteliers Association has demanded a slash in the prices of commercial gas cylinders.
Association President C. Narayanagowda has issued a press statement where he said that the prices of 19-kg commercial gas cylinders were hiked by Rs. 1,500 during the last 4 months as an aftermath of US-Iran War in the Middle East.
“The prices of crude oil have come down after the signing of a peace agreement between two warring nations recently. Following improvement in the supply of crude oil from Iran, the Central Government has ensured the uninterrupted supply of LPG cylinders which is welcome. But still the supply at the ground level have not improved yet. Since the hike in the prices of petrol and diesel have led to the increased cost of food grains, edible oil and other necessary items, including transport charges, which have made the running the hotel business very difficult. Hence, our Association strongly urge the Central Government to immediately reduce the price of commercial LPG cylinders which will also benefit the general public. I appeal the Government to take suitable action in this regard,” said Narayanagowda.
