Hoteliers welcome Government’s Disneyland plan at KRS

Mysuru: The Mysuru Hotel Owners’ Association and Hotel Owners’ Association Charitable Trust has welcomed the State Government’s plan of constructing Disneyland-like amusement park at Brindavan Gardens in KRS.

Addressing a press meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan here yesterday, Association President C. Narayanagowda said that the plan of Disneyland-like amusement at Brindavan Gardens which would come up at a cost of Rs.1,200 crore would be beneficial for farmers and for the entire State as the decision is taken in the interest of the people in Mysuru and Mandya district.   

He said that the project to be taken up at KRS was essential and would become popular like the Eiffel Tower and Disneyland and added that Mysuru and Mandya districts would be a haven for tourists.

Continuing, Narayanagowda said that Mysuru Tourism was being projected by the projects and schemes made by the erstwhile rulers till now and for the first time the State Government has come up with such a project to encourage tourism.

He said that the project would directly or indirectly create jobs to thousands of people besides providing business opportunities for hotel industry, fine arts and crafts and travel industry and added that the State Government was getting a revenue of Rs.6 crore annually which would go up to Rs.30 crore annually once the project is completed besides increasing the revenue of tourist spots in and around Mysuru.

With other States like Kerala, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh taking up various projects, Karnataka, in this competitive era, should not be left behind and this project would help the State in attracting tourists from across the globe, Narayanagowda said and added that the KRS was built about 100 years ago and has not been developed in a big way since then. With the Disneyland-like amusement park project, KRS and Brindavan Gardens would also be developed.

Hotel Owners’ Association Charitable Trust President Ravishastri, Vice-President Suresh Ugraiah, Secretary Subramanya R. Tanthri and Hotel Owners’ Association Treasurer K. Bhaskar Shetty were present.
