House burglars arrested

Mysore/Mysuru: The City Crime Branch (CCB) Police, on Dec. 27 at about 4.30 pm, have arrested an inter-State house burglar, while he was attempting to sell the stolen jewellery in front of Bhagyalakshmi Jewellery Craft on Ashoka Road in Lashkar Mohalla. 

The Police have recovered 176 gram gold ornaments, 454 gram silver articles, Rs. 25,840 cash, five US Dollars and a mobile phone which was bought with the stolen money, totalling Rs. 9 lakh.

Arrested burglar is 29-year-old Prem Kumar of Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Alapakkam, Porur in Chennai of Tamil Nadu.  The accused had earlier burgled three houses in Chennai and was out on bail. A case has been registered against him at Lashkar Police Station.

DCP M.S. Geetha Prasanna and CCB ACP V. Mariyappa supervised CCB Inspector R. Jagadish, ASI D.G. Chandregowda and staff Saleem Pasha, Ramaswamy, Chikkanna, Paramesh, Shivaraju, Lakshmikanth, M.R. Ganesh, Anand, Anil, Chandrashekar, Prakash and Goutham in the nabbing and seizing operation.

In another case, Mandi Police have arrested two notorious house burglars, who had burgled a house at Lashkar Mohalla on Dec. 18 night and had decamped with gold, diamond and platinum jewellery and household items.

The accused are 35-year-old Mujju Ahmed and 40-year-old Mujamil Ahmed, both residents of Beedi Colony in Azeez Sait Nagar.

The accused were earlier involved in various cases and had also refrained from attending Court hearings since eight years besides absconding since then. 

During interrogation, the accused are said to have confessed of burgling the house at Lashkar Mohalla and based on the information by the accused, the Police have recovered 225 gram gold, diamond and platinum jewellery, LCD TV, Set Top Box, DVD player worth Rs. 8 lakh and seized a Maruti 800 car used for the crime.

Rajendra, Santosh Kumar, Ravi Gowda, Shankar T. Bandivaddar, Hanumantha Kalleda, Kariyappa and Sameer in the nabbing, recovery and seizing operation.
