House burgled at Vijayanagar

Gold, silver, cash worth Rs. 7.53 lakh stolen

Mysore/Mysuru: Burglars, who broke into a house at Vijayanagar 4th Stage, 2nd Phase, have decamped with gold jewellery, silver articles and cash worth Rs. 7.53 lakh from the house.

The burglary took place at the house of one H.R. Raghu, when he and his family members had gone to his sister’s house at Alanahalli in city.

On Mar. 28 afternoon, Raghu and his family members locked the house and left to Alanahalli and returned at about 4.30 am the next day, only to see the front door forcibly opened.

On entering the house, they found the almirahs and cupboards ransacked and clothes scattered on the floor.

On inspecting further, they found two gold chains weighing 30 and 23 grams, two finger rings weighing a total of 13 grams, a pair of silver lamps weighing 230 grams, 10 wrist watches, Rs. 50,000 cash and other valuables stolen and lodged a Police complaint.

Vijayanagar Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
