House burgled in Bylakuppe

Masked miscreants, who broke into a house of one Mallesh at Marooru village in Periyapatna taluk assaulted the inmates of the house besides decamping with gold jewellery and mobile phones on Sunday night.

It is reported that at about 11.30, Mallesh and Jayamma couple heard someone knocking on their door asking them to open the door.

The couple who peeped through the window saw five masked miscreants standing and did not open the door. The miscreants then broke opened the door and entered the house and assaulted the couple with lethal weapons besides decamping with gold jewellery weighing about 10 grams and two Nokia mobile phone worth about Rs. 27,500.

The injured Mallesh and Jayamma couple, who were treated at a Kushalnagar Hospital, later lodged a complaint with Bylakuppe Police in this regard.

Bylakuppe Police Station SI Ramachandra Nayak who  has registered a case is investigating.
