House burgled: Rs. 20.85 lakh gold jewellery, Rs. 13 lakh cash stolen

Mysuru: Burglars who broke into a house in Vijayanagar, have decamped with gold and cash worth lakhs of rupees.

The burglary took place at the house of 60-year-old Rajamma in Vijayanagar 4th Stage, 2nd Phase between Sept. 28 afternoon and Sept. 29 night.

Rajamma, who stays in the said house since 10 months with her daughter, son-in-law and grand-children, left to her parents’ house at Alanahalli in Periyapatna taluk on Sept. 28 afternoon along with others.

When they returned on Sept. 29 night, they found the front door forcibly opened using a sharp object and on inspecting the house, they found 300 grams gold jewellery worth Rs. 20.85 lakh and Rs. 13 lakh cash kept in the almirah stolen. Based on the complaint from Rajamma, Vijayanagar Police, who have registered a case are investigating.
