House burgled: Rs. 6.56 lakh gold jewellery, cash stolen

Mysore/Mysuru: House burglars, who gained entry into a house by breaking the window glass, have decamped with Rs. 4 lakh cash and gold jewellery totalling Rs. 6.56 lakh from the house.

The burglary took place on June 19 night at the house of M. Chandra, an Engineer in Mooganahundi village in the taluk.

On June 19 evening, Chandra and his family members locked the house and went to Parasaiahnahundi to attend the wedding reception of his brother Ravi.

At 12 midnight, a few relatives of Chandra went to the house to sleep and found the glass of the window next to the door broken and on looking inside they found the household articles scattered and informed Chandra.

Chandra, who rushed to the house, went inside and on inspecting the belongings, he found a five gram diamond ring, six gold fingerings weighing 34 grams, five gram gold earring, gold necklace weighing 16 grams, two earrings weighing three grams each and Rs. 4.03 lakh cash stolen.

Based on the complaint from Chandra, Jayapura Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
