Household items worth about Rs. 1 lakh charred

Mysuru: Household items worth about Rs. 1 lakh was charred at a house belonging to one Suman at Sunnadakeri 2nd Cross in city on Tuesday night.

On Tuesday morning, Suman along with her family members had gone to her relative’s house in Nanjangud but had not switched off the computer and fans as there was a power failure that time.

At about 9.30 pm, thick smoke had engulfed the house and the neighbours who saw the smoke immediately alerted the Fire Brigade in Saraswathipuram, who rushed to the spot and doused the fire, but the fire had charred the household items by then.

FSO Nagaraj Urs, Station Officer L. Raju and staff Umesh, Prabhakar, Chandrashekar and Nayak took part in the operation.
