‘Huccha’ Venkat thrashed in public at Madikeri

August 30, 2019

Some people were under impression that a film shooting was in progress and Venkat was thrashing the baddies

Madikeri, Aug. 30- A video of actor-cum-director ‘Huccha’ Venkat being assaulted by a group of people for allegedly misbehaving in public is going viral on social media platforms. The mob later handed Venkat to the Madikeri Police.

The incident took place near the KSRTC Depot at Madikeri last evening. Venkat who seemed to be in an inebriated state reportedly slapped a youth named Dileep without any provocation. Venkat broke the windshield of a car parked in front of the depot. He also pelted stones at the vehicle.

When Dileep, a resident of Napoklu, was returning from an ATM kiosk, Venkat slapped him without any provocation. Irked by his misbehaviour, a few local residents thrashed Venkat and later handed him to the Police.

Ironically, many who knew ‘Huccha’ Venkat because of his histrionics were under an impression that a film shooting was in progress and Venkat was thrashing the baddies. When he was being thrashed, the public realised that it was for real. Madikeri Police later took Venkat into custody.

Police said ‘Huccha’ Venkat had come all alone to Madikeri in a car. Clothes, blanket and chappals were found in the vehicle. Venkat is a frequent visitor at Madikeri and was not seen for the past four months.

Latest reports from Madikeri said that after being released from the Madikeri Police Station, Venkat headed to Kushalnagar in his car and fought with a petrol pump employee. He also created a scene in Periyapatna where he abused some people.
