Mysuru: Kyathamaranahalli Sri Huliyamma Temple Development Trust, convened a meeting at the temple premises this morning, only to vehemently oppose the reopening of Arabic school by Aleema Sadiya Education and Masjid-E-Siddique-E-Akbar Trust on Site No 1/2 and 1/3, on 6th Cross of Udayagiri (Gayathripuram 2nd Stage – Kyathamaranahalli).
That apart, neither Madrasa, Masjid nor any other activities be conducted at the disputed site. Instead, the status quo should be maintained, they said.
Advocate A.M. Bhaskar, who is the counsel for the Trust, said, that the locality being a sensitive place with a history of communal clashes, the City Police Commissioner had submitted a report on similar lines to the District Administration. However, the Deputy Commissioner without taking such serious views into consideration, has given his permission recently for reopening the Arabic School.
“We will continue to protest this decision of the District Administration, by approaching the competent authority and the High Court. We will also submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister, Home Minister and District Minister, to review the order to restore the school,” said Bhaskar.
Chandramma mother of Raju, an RSS worker, who was murdered in March 2016, over the same dispute, also attended the meeting. She warned saying “No activities be allowed at the disputed site, as my son had to pay with his life.”
About 500 to 600 people including women participated in the meeting. As a precautionary measure, the City Police had made elaborate security arrangements in and around the temple. Office-bearers of the Temple Trust Mahadev, M. Lokesh, Shivakumar, Bheeshma, Siddaiah, Nagaraja and others were present.
