‘Human assets score over degrees in business’

3rd Convocation of Bhavan’s Priyamvada Birla Institute of Management

Mysuru – “Today, businesses do not just look up at degrees but at human assets to bring solutions to the world,” opined Dr. B.G. Sangameshwara, Vice-Chancellor, JSS Science and Technology University.

He was delivering the address at the 3rd Convocation of PGDM programme of Bhavan’s Priyamvada Birla Institute of Management (BPBIM) organised jointly by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB), Mysuru at its premises in Vijayanagar here yesterday.

Dr. Sangameshwara said that the nation today looks forward to young bright souls whose thoughts are noble and actions are humane.

He observed that a multi-linguistic and multi-cultural surrounding is always effective for an all-round development of an individual. He further said that as technology growth was eternal, business schools have to regularly review their value propositions. Referring to today’s worldwide scenario, Dr. Sangameshwara pointed out that management skills today include stitching the needs of business with the society.

The VC advised the budding management professionals not to become just job-seekers but become innovators to bring solutions to problems plaguing the environment around us.

He also stressed the importance on ‘Live to make a difference’ to become achievers in this competitive world.

On the occasion, PGDM certificates were given away to 24 students with 16 of them winning medals.

BPBIM Mysuru Chairman N. Ramanuja presided. Resident Director Dr. A.V. Narasimha Murthy welcomed. Director-Academics Dr. N.S. Viswanath, Member-Secretary Dr. A.T. Bhashyam and Governing Council Member P.S. Ganapathy were present at the Convocation.
