Human foot in dog’s mouth creates panic among villagers

June 23, 2018

Mandya:  People panicked on seeing a dog eating the foot of a human. The incident occurred at Hulikere village in Nagamangala taluk.

Villagers found a dog eating the foot of a human in the forest area that lies between Hulikere and Tyapenahalli villages on Thursday evening. They tried to stop the dog eating the foot but it has attacked them. The villagers have informed the Nagamangala Police about the incident.

The Police reached the spot on hearing the information and searched for the dog. However, it had disappeared along with the foot by then. The Police have started the investigation to find out who the foot belonged to.

The villagers are anxious to find out where the dog found the foot and whether it is of a person who has been murdered. It is more than a month since the elections were over and Nagamangala is considered a sensitive constituency.

There was political slug-fest here and the suspicion doing the rounds is whether a politically motivated murder has  occurred. The Police are also wondering whether there is any truth in this.

The residents of the neighbouring village Arehalli also suspect that the foot might belong to a 19-year-old girl who had gone missing last month. A missing complaint was lodged by the girl’s family members and now they are worried about this turn of events.

Along with the Police, the dog squad is also searching for the dog and the foot. Even though there is a doubt that the foot could have been that of a person buried, the fact remains that nobody had dug a grave in the vicinity.
