Hundreds attend career guidance workshop for Class 10 students

Mysuru:  Learners PU College, Mysuru, conducted a seminar and career guidance workshop for Class 10 students  at Kalamandira here recently.

Mohit Mangal, MD & CEO, iQue Foundation, Ahmedabad, facilitated the workshop along with Kannada translation by Shivashankar, Founder, People Tree, for the students, parents and teachers of 10th standard.

Emphasising that career opportunities and higher education need to be pursued based on individual flair, he said that subjects of choice should be based on one’s Aptitude, Personality and Interest. All subjects require consistent and committed effort and there is no short cut.  

A student who has good memory power and willing to sit and read, or a person who is inquisitive to learn on how a machine works and the technical aspects should opt for Science stream. A student who is good in Maths, Economics and has an analytical mind should take up Commerce and Management and one who is creative and artistic with good emotional connect should take up Humanities / Arts.

Other streams apart from these, that a candidate can opt to switch to are like Law, Hotel Management, Business management, Mass Communication and Journalism, Liberal Studies, Computer Applications, Designing, Performing Arts, Social Science and Defence Forces, Foreign Languages, Event Management, Travel and Tourism, Beautician, DJ / VJ / RJ, Cartoonist, Sculpture, Music and Sports.  About 800 people attended this programme.
