Hundreds of children immunised against Measles-Rubella

In the interest of health of children, Measles-Rubella Vaccine was administered to hundreds of children throughout the district at Primary and Community Health Centres yesterday though it was a holiday being a Sunday.

Under the initiative of District Health Officer Dr. B. Basavaraj, the vaccine was administered to children at Community Health Centre in Jayanagar; Primary Health Centres (PHC) in Nazarbad, Jayal akshmipuram, Saraswathipuram, Vidyaranyapuram, Vontikoppal and other areas. It was also administered at Taluk Hospitals and PHCs in villages.

Speaking to the media persons, Dr. Basavaraj said that on Sundays the vaccination will not be done being a holiday but the rule was  broken to enable parents to take their children for immunisation at PHCs and Community Health Centres. He added that the immunisation would go on till Feb. 28.
