Hundreds take part in ‘Heritage Walk’

Mysuru:  Hundreds of people participated in the ‘Heritage Walk’ organised by the Department of Archaeology, Heritage and Museums in city on Monday. The Heritage Week commenced in Dharwad on Nov. 19 with the valedictory held in city on Nov. 25.

Freelancer Supriya Vasanth Kumar Ballal of Cochin flagged off the Heritage Walk at Town Hall premises here which passed through Clock Tower, Palace, K.R. Circle, Lansdowne Building, Bannumaiah Institutions, MCC Office, CADA Office and Gun House Circle before culminating at Dasara Expo Grounds.

The historical importance of the heritage buildings was narrated by Prof. N.S. Rangaraju and N.N. Swamy. Over 250 people including students of various colleges participated in the walk.

Department of Archaeology, Heritage and Museums Deputy Director Nirmala Matapathi, Assistant Director Manjula and others were present.
