Hunsur CMC polls, MCC Ward 18 by-poll on Feb.9

Mysuru/Mysore:  The Election Commission on Tuesday announced that the Hunsur CMC polls and the by-poll to MCC Ward 18 will be held on Feb. 9. 

The by-poll to MCC Ward 18 (Yadavagiri) has been necessitated following disqualification of BJP Corporator Guru Vinayak over fake caste certificate row.

As per poll schedule, the poll notification will be issued on Jan.21 and the last date for filing of nominations is Jan.28. The scrutiny of papers will take place on Jan.29 and the last date for withdrawal of nominations is Jan.31. The voting will take place from 7 am to 5 pm on Feb.9 and the counting of votes will be taken up on Feb.11.

 All the 31 Wards of Hunsur City Municipal Council (CMC)  will go the polls on Feb.9. Following the announcement of the poll schedule, the Model Code of Conduct has come into force in the limits of MCC Ward 18 and Hunsur CMC till Feb.11, according to Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G. Sankar, who is also the District Electoral Officer.
