Hunsur Cops nab 3, recover Rs.18 lakh worth valuables

Mysore/Mysuru: Hunsur Town Police, who were investigating into the burglary cases at Maruti and Manjunatha Layouts in the town, have arrested three on the charge of house burglary and have recovered 289 grams of gold and 2.4 kg of silver articles worth Rs. 18 lakh from them.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Seema Latkar told media persons at the conference hall at her office premises this morning: “following the arrest of the accused trio, total seven cases of house burglary including five reported in Hunsur Town Police limits, one each in Periyapatna and K.R. Nagar Police limits have been solved. The accused have criminal antecedents as they had been convicted and awarded imprisonment in the similar cases reported earlier in other districts.”

The accused are Manjunath alias Chooti Manja, aged 45 years, Channapatna, Gopikrishna, 58, Hunsur and Murugesh, 45, of Channapatna. Gopikrishna had been released from jail after serving 12 years of sentence and Murugesh six years of jail term.

Inspector of Hunsur Town Police Station S.M. Devendra, ASI Puttanayaka and staff H.N. Arun, R. Prabhakar, D.A. Irfan, S.A. Manohar, Raghu, G.K. Manjunath, Ahmed Ali, Nagendra, Haleem Pasha, Tirumallesh, Vasanth Kumar, Satish and Lingarajaiah were involved in cracking the cases.

Additional SP Dr. B.N. Nandini and other Police Officers were present during the press meet.
