Hunsur votes for electing CMC

Hunsur: Polling began on a brisk note in Hunsur this morning for electing the new City Municipal Council (CMC) for a five-year period.

The Hunsur CMC has 31  Wards, in which there are a total of 41,916 voters, including 20,674 men, 21,240 women and 2 other voters.

The authorities have set up 39 Booths. The polling began at 7 am, with voters lining up at the Polling Booths.

The voting  gained further  momentum as the day progressed and the town had recorded a poll percentage of 42 at 12.30 pm. The voting concludes at 5 pm.

The Police had provided tight security around all the Polling Booths for ensuring a free and fair poll. 

Also, prohibitory orders have been imposed in 3-km radius of the CMC and a dry-day has been declared till midnight today. The counting of votes will be taken up at the CMC building, where the EVMs will be stored after voting, on Feb.11.
