Husband ends life as wife goes to jail in robbery case

Mysuru: A husband, who was depressed over his wife landing in jail in a robbery case, committed suicide by pouring petrol and setting himself on fire at Sharadadevinagar here on Aug. 7.

The deceased has been identified as Manjunath (55), a resident of 15th Cross in Sharadadevinagar.

It may be recalled that about four days ago, Kuvempunagar Police, who had registered a case of robbery in a house belonging to one Ravindra P. Rao at Ramakrishnanagar, where gold jewellery worth about Rs. 10 lakh was stolen, went through the CCTV footages of the house and found Shubha, wife of Manjunath, stealing them, following which, the Cops arrested her.
