Mysore/Mysuru:  IAS Officer M.S. Archana took charge as the new Managing Director (MD) of Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) Limited  at CESC headquarters in Vijayanagar Second Stage here on Tuesday evening, following the retirement of K.M. Munigopal Raju upon superannuation on Mar. 31 (see page-9).

Archana previously served as the Special Deputy Commissioner of Bengaluru Urban (North)w.

A day after taking charge, Archana held a series of meetings with officials from various sections and sub-divisions of CESC at her office this morning.

She directed the officials to give top priority for ensuring safety and maintaining maximum quality in work.

Stressing on the need for bringing electrical mishaps to zero level, she called upon all the staff to ensure prevention of mishaps and to see that there are no fatalities or injuries caused while working on power lines or poles.  She also emphasised on the need for the staff to be people-friendly as the department is closely associated with the people.
