‘Ideal NCC Cadet’ Cap Presentation Ceremony held

Mysore/Mysuru: The 14 Karnataka NCC Battalion, Mysuru, under the aegis of HQs Mysuru NCC Group, conducted ‘Ideal NCC Cadet’ Cap Presentation Ceremony at the Battalion premises on Vinoba Road in city on Feb. 7.

One Cadet of each Institute who has displayed exemplary traits in NCC training activities, leadership exercises, academics and social service/ community developmental projects was identified for the felicitation ceremony.

A total of 37 NCC Cadets were honoured with the prestigious token to motivate NCC Cadets to live up to the motto of NCC — ‘Unity and Discipline.’ Ten Associated NCC Officers (ANO) were also promoted to the successive ranks during the ceremony. Staff and Cadets who have been honoured with CM’s Commendation Certificate, Director General, NCC’s Commendation Card and DDG Karnataka and Goa NCC Directorate’s Commendation Certificate were also felicitated.

The Battalion is well-poised to impart effective training to NCC Cadets under the vision, guidance and tutelage of Col. Rohit Thakur, the Group Commander, NCC Mysuru Group, said Lt. Col. M. Tejus,  Sena Medal, Officer Commanding, 14 Karnataka NCC Battalion. The Cap should be worn with pride as it is the recognition of excellent performance, he mentioned. The endeavour to become responsible citizens who are physically active, mentally robust and psychologically determined to contribute to the society should be relentlessly pursued, he added in his address to the NCC Cadets.

Lt. Col. Sudhir Krishnan, Lt. Col. R.H. Sandeep, Sena Medal, the Administrative Officer of the Battalion and Subedar Major Sebastian Daniel were also present during the ceremony along with the GCI and Permanent Instructor (PI) staff of 14 Karnataka Battalion.

The ceremony concluded with NCC Song and the National Anthem.
