Illegal sheds and huts demolished

Mysore/Mysuru: The Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) authorities razed several illegal sheds and huts near Lalithadripura village in the taluk yesterday.

MUDA Commissioner Dr. D.B. Natesh said that MUDA had acquired over 15 to 19 acre land, which had been given to Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation for construction of Ashraya Houses. Over 15 illegal sheds and small huts had been constructed in Survey numbers 16/1, 16/2, 16/3, 17, 18/2, 18/3 and 18/4 of Lalithadripura village worth more than Rs. 10 crore. All illegal structures have been now demolished and the property has been handed over to Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) so that the possession of the property could be handed over to Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation.

The operation was carried out in the presence of heavy security provided by Mysuru Rural Police officials and other Police force. MUDA Commissioner Dr. D.B. Natesh, Superintendent Engineer Shankar, Zonal officers, Junior and Assistant Engineers and other staff members of MUDA were present during the operation, according to a press release.
