In spite of COVID-19 pandemic, achieves Best Placement record

August 4, 2020

Mysore/Mysuru: In spite of the COVID-19 pandemic, NIE Institute of Technology (NIE-IT), Mysuru, has achieved the Best Placement records for its 2019-20 outgoing batch. NIE-IT had arranged placement drives by a wide range of recruiters with a total 137 offers made with the highest package of Rs. 10 lakh per annum.

A total of 84 companies visited for Campus recruitment out of which 30 companies offered packages more than Rs. 5 lakh per annum.

Dr. Bansilal, Principal, NIE-IT said “Placement and Training Cell of NIE-IT takes initiatives to provide adequate soft skill and aptitude training to students to enable them to have better employability skills. Offering of Mock Interviews to students by Alumni, senior students or by employers (if available), helps them learn how to answer questions, develop interview strategies, improve communication skills and reduce stress and anxiety of interviews by boosting their confidence before an actual job interview. Recruiter feedback from various industries is collected which is a very important activity to design the training needs of students, and also academic delivery to meet the expectations of industry. Most employers seek career-ready graduates who have been equipped with prior experiences and skills in a given field.  Hence NIE Institute of Technology also arranges internships for 70-80% of students with the support of faculty, Training and Placement Cell and Industry Institute Partnership Cell (IIPC)”. The recruitment is still going on.

Last year’s placement statistics:  Number of companies visited – 48, Number of offers – 143,  Highest pay package – Rs. 7.5 lakh per annum, Average pay package – Rs. 2.5 lakh per annum.
