Include missing names in voters’ list before MCC polls

May 12, 2023

Sir,

This phenomenon of missing voters is a sad reflection of the Election Commission (Missing names: Hundreds of voters return home disappointed in SOM dated May 11).

It is not as if it has happened for first time now but it has been the case in successive elections also and the EC seems to have not learned any lessons.

The fact that they have names of dead persons and omitting those who have been voting for many years is an inexcusable lapse. Ironically, while the country boasts of being digitally revolutionised, such basic blunders are committed. This happens because there is no accountability.

Hope the District Electoral Officer will set right this before the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) elections later this year or before the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
