Residents urge Cops to initiate action

Mysore/Mysuru: Menace of youths performing wheelie, over-speeding of vehicles and robbery cases are increasing in Yadavagiri, one of the posh localities of city, causing concerns among the residents, who have urged the Police to initiate necessary action.

These issues came to the fore at the grievances meeting of residents which was organised by Yadavagiri Residents Association at Gujarati Samaja Bhavan here yesterday evening.

At the meeting, residents complained of increasing robbery cases in the locality and mentioned that the thieves even steal iron materials kept in front of houses. The residents also highlighted the menace of youths performing wheelie on empty roads, making loud noise by altering the silencer pipes of two-wheelers and over-speeding during night times. The residents demanded the Police to take action to put brakes to the menace.

Reacting to the residents, V.V. Puram Sub-Inspector K.K. Mohan said that the residents will be given protection and added that many robbery cases have been detected and night beat Police will be deployed. The Sub-Inspector asked the residents to dial Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) number 122 if they face any problems  from strangers.

V.V. Puram Traffic Sub-Inspector Goutham, who also spoke, said that a survey has been conducted to install barricades, speed breakers and CAT EYE and the report has been sent to the higher officers. The Sub-Inspector said that once they receive instructions from their higher ups, they would take steps to install barricades, road humps and also conduct checking of vehicles to initiate legal action against those over-speeding and performing wheelie.

Give importance to cleanliness: The residents have also urged the MCC officials to give priority to cleanliness to which MCC Environmental Engineer Sridevi assured that any problem pertaining to cleanliness will be solved immediately and also collected information about the spots where there are problems.
