One of India’s bright medal contenders in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Neeraj Chopra on Wednesday last qualified for the final of the javelin throw event with a stunning first attempt of 86.65m. The 23-year-old left the javelin arena after his first throw, having secured his place in the final quite easily. Ahead of the men’s javelin throw finals today (Aug. 7), sand artist from Puri, Odisha — Manas Kumar Sahoo — celebrated the youngster’s achievements and wished him good luck by creating a beautiful sand structure of the athlete. The men’s javelin throw finals is scheduled for today at 4.30 pm IST.
