India won the five-test home series against England winning the fourth test at Ranchi, by five wickets this afternoon, with a day to spare.
With this, India has taken an unbeatable 3-1 lead in the five test series, with one Test still to go.
India, who were set a target of 192 runs, resumed their overnight score of 40 for no loss. Though India’s middle order fumbled in the run chase, Shubman Gill ( 52 n.o.) and Wicket-keeper batsman Dhruv Jurel (39 n.o.), the local lad, ensured India’s victory with an unbeaten stand of 72 runs for the sixth wicket.
The fifth and final test, which is inconsequential, will be held at Dharamsala from Mar. 7.
