Indore ITF Women’s Tennis Tournament: City’s Dhruthi enters pre-quarters

City’s Dhruthi T. Venugopal representing India in the $15,000 ITF Women’s Tennis Tournament at Indore won the first round women’s singles tie yesterday.

In the first round of the women’s singles event, Dhruthi beat Satwika Sama (IND) 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 and entered the pre-quarterfinals. In the women’s doubles pre-quarter-final tie, third seeded pair of Dhruthi and Thailand’s Bunyawi Thamchaiwat beat Jiakang LI (China) & Yexin MA (China) 6-7(5), 7-5, 10-8.
