Mysore/Mysuru: Senior Advocate and BJP leader S. Arun Kumar observed that the State Government’s decision providing inner reservation among Dalit communities is a historical one and no one should misunderstand or misread it.

In a statement, Arun Kumar said former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda had launched the process of inner reservation and the current BJP Government has realised it in practicality.

Arun Kumar asserted that everyone should honour the commitment of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai for rendering social justice to all deprived communities. Referring to the violence that erupted in Shikaripura in Shivamogga district, where the Banjara community revolted against inner reservation, he said that though staging protest is a Constitutional right, the violence that has taken place is condemnable.

Condemning the attack on the residence of former CM B.S. Yediyurappa at Shikaripura, Arun Kumar urged the people not to fall prey to provocation and leaders should educate communities on the benefits of inner reservation. He appealed political leaders not to mislead anyone in respect of inner reservation among SC communities.
