Innovation needed in bus routes

Sir,

Suggestions to experiment circular bus routes and avoiding central city bus stand in majority of the routes are absolute needs of a growing city. A few have already expressed through this newspaper on the same lines.

This suggestion is also with a view to avoid heavy rush of traffic near CBS.  I wish to suggest that some routes can be thought of to connect Railway Station, K.R. Hospital and Devaraja Market and sub-urban bus stand from major extensions avoiding central bus stand with a few modifications and with variations in CBS-to-CBS concept in existing  routes.

In fact, many of the buses pass via JC Wadiyar Circle (Hardinge Circle) to city bus stand without touching sub-urban bus stand. So near yet so far.  The proposed one such ring route may be like this —  Aditya Circle, Dattagalli, KEB Circle, Rajarajeshwarinagar junction, Bogadi Junction, Vijayanagar 3rd Stage, Aishwarya Petrol Bunk, B.M. Hospital, Jayalakshmipuram, Ramakrishna Vidyashala junction, Railway Station, K.R. Hospital, Clock Tower (for the present  — and serious thinking to remove the barricade near erstwhile Ranjith Talkies junction may please be considered and Sangam Talkies road may please be widened by taking a larger view of catering to increasing traffic)  JC Wadiyar Circle, Gun House, 100 feet road, Ramaswamy Circle, Ballal Circle, Kantharaj Urs road, Stone Building, Ramakrishnanagar Circle, Dattagalli and Aditya Circle.

Now that Bogadi junction to Gangothri campus is being widened, traffic will increase in this road, necessitating  diverting some of the buses in this route. So, a few buses via Crawford Hall and  Ramavilas Road where a number of schools and colleges are functioning, may be thought of to run buses via Ramavilas road, Banumaiah Circle, Agrahara Circle, M.G. Road, Alanahalli to Ring Road and onwards.

As road widening is needed from near Sangam Talkies to Ranjith Talkies junction, MCC may please consider these proposals as well with a vision for the immediate future.
