Sir,
Following the cooker bomb blast case in Mangaluru recently and with the Police zeroing in on the house of the suspected youth with terror-links in Metagalli, all vehicles entering Mysuru are being checked at all the entry points by noting down the vehicle number, name of the driver, their mobile number etc.
This is a good move by the City Police and they deserve a pat for this.
However, this operation is being done only in the evening time upto 10 pm. As such, it would be wise to think to install permanent checking points at all the entry points with scanner cameras so that the all the vehicles are scanned for their vehicle number and entries made for the inmates of the vehicle in a systematic and computerised way, apart from saving in manpower.
I am confident that this novel way will surely curb other crimes and also give the Police a vital lead while detecting the crimes.
I request the City Police Commissioner to look into the pros and cons of this suggestion and implement it if found suitable.
