Insure mango crop

Farmers can now insure their mango crop under the Horticulture Department’s Weather based Crop Insurance Scheme (WBCIS) for the year 2020-21. For insurance amount of Rs. 80,000 per hectare, farmers have to pay a premium of Rs. 4,000, which can be paid at Agriculture Insurance Company of India before Nov. 15. Similarly, under Karnataka Raitha Suraksha Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, for the year 2020-21, farmers can insure their tomato crop by paying a premium of Rs. 5,900 for insurance amount of Rs. 1.18 lakh per hectare. Along with their applications in the prescribed format, farmers should submit copies of ‘pahani’ for the current year, bank passbook, Aadhaar card and crop details directly or register their names online: https://www.samrakshane.karnataka.gov.in/ For details, contact Bharti Axa General Insurance Co.
