Inter-district accused involved in over 50 cases arrested

Chamarajanagar: An inter-district accused wanted in over 50 cases has been arrested.

The arrested accused is 33-year-old Anand of Jigani taluk in Bengaluru. He was involved in over 50 criminal cases at Chamarajanagar, Malavalli, Mandya, Shivamogga, Tumakuru, Bengaluru and other districts across the State besides hoodwinking the Police after committing the crimes.

Anand had committed a house burglary recently and Bengaluru’s RR Nagar Police, who had arrested him, had sent him to jail. Chamarajanagar Crime Division Police, who came to know about Anand’s arrest, got a body warrant against Anand, took him into their custody and interrogated him during which the accused is said to have confessed of committing burglaries at Swagath Traders and Prabhu Electronics at Bhuvaneshwari Circle in Chamarajanagar.

It is learnt that accused Anand had earlier involved in crimes and was sentenced to jail. After getting out of jail, he is said to have continued committing crimes.
