Mysuru: Akhila Bharata Praja Vedike, Friday Forum and People’s Forum for Civic Rights together had organised an open interaction on the ‘Draft National Educational Policy (NEP) – 2019’ at Maneyangala in Kalamandira premises here yesterday.
Speaking on the occasion, Academic Critic B. Sripada Bhat observed that every education policy including the proposed NEP is formulated in the background of privatisation, globalisation and capitalism. He opined that a common NEP cannot be enforced uniformly throughout the country, with each State having a different language.
He regretted that the State Governments have not reacted vociferously to the new NEP adding that the State Government has failed to appoint an Education Minister after the exit of N. Mahesh indicating the pitiable state of decision-making.
University of Mysore (UoM) Hassan PG Centre Director Dr. M. Shankar, UoM Prasaranga Retired Joint Director S.R. Sudarshan, Kannada Kriya Samithi General Secretary K. Venkataraju and others were present.
