Interaction with Achiever at Mysore Art Gallery

Mysore/Mysuru: Mysore Art Gallery has organised an interaction with B.M. Ramachandra of Sri Rajeshwari Vastralankara and former Member of Karnataka Nataka Academy at the Gallery premises on Ramanuja Road in city tomorrow (Oct. 8) at 11 am as part of its monthly ‘Interaction with Achiever-72.’

Vijayavani Residential Editor M.R. Satyanarayana will be the chief guest. Mysore Art Gallery Founder-President L. Shivalingappa will preside.

Senior art patron and Science writer Srimathi Hariprasad, senior theatre person K.J. Narayan Kikkeri, Savigannada Patrike Editor Ranganath and theatre artiste N.S. Sridhar will be the special invitees.

Profile: B.M. Ramachandra has worked with big names like B.V. Karanth, Hamsalekha, T.S. Nagabharana, Prasanna, CGK and Mandya Ramesh and earned appreciation for his creative work. As guest lecturer, he has taught makeup skills and costume design at Rangayana, Mysuru. He launched Sri Rajeshwari Vastralakara in 1980 and has designed costumes for mythological, historical, folk and social plays staged throughout Karnataka.

For Dr. Rajkumar’s 75th birthday, Ramachandra recreated 75 costumes worn by characters played by the great actor and that won him much appreciation.

With 45 years in the art field, Ramachandra has received several awards, including one presented by the Karnataka  Nataka Academy.
