Mysore/Mysuru: De Paul College, Mysuru, had organised a two-day International Conference in collaboration with Department of Genetics and Genomics, University of Mysore, Xavier Board of Higher Education in India and AIRIO, with benediction from Adamson University, Manila, Philippines and De Paul University, Chicago, USA on July 15 and 16.

The conference was interdisciplinary in nature on the topic  ‘Bridging the Gap; On the Intersection of Science, Technology, Education, Commerce and Management.’

The conference brought together experts, professionals, researchers and scholars from diverse fields. It aimed to highlight the potential benefits of integrating and exploring the intersection of science, technology, education, commerce and management, including emerging technologies, financial management, entrepreneurship, business strategies, sustainability, research and development which drive innovation, create new opportunities, and address global challenges.

The interactive sessions facilitated in sharing knowledge, experiences, ideas of experts and scholars for a discovery of an innovative, sustainable and interconnected world.

Rev. Dr. Marcelo V. Manimtim, CM (President, Adamson University Manila, Philippines), who was the chief guest for the inaugural ceremony, spoke on the need of bridging the gap between various fields of study.

He elaborated on how this can be practically achieved by explaining how Adamson University has been implementing measures to promote inter-disciplinarity among diverse fields of study to bridge the gap between disciplines.

The other dignitaries who attended the conference include Prof. S. Suttur Malini (Director – UGC- HRDC, HoD of Genetics and Genomics, University of Mysore); Rev. Dr. Teresa CSST (Secretary General, Xavier Board of Higher Education in India); Dr. Ruben M. Nayve Jr (Dean, College of Business Administration, Adamson University, Manila, Philippines) and Rev. Dr. Anil K. Thomas (Provincial, Southern Indian Province, Congregation of Mission).

At the valedictory session, Dr. Robert L. Manuel (President, De Paul University, Chicago, USA) was the chief guest. Dr. Puttaraju (Vice-Chancellor, Mandya University), Dr. K.S. Rangappa (former Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore), Col. Sudheendra Shamanna (Academic President, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Dubai), Dr. Raja Jebasingh (Vice-Principal, St. Joseph College, Bengaluru) and Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Mar Thomas (Global President, AIRIO), were present.
