International Day of Girl Child celebrated

Mysuru: Family Planning Association of India (FPAI) Mysuru Branch and ULBA Hospital, Mysuru had organised programmes to create awareness on International Day of The Girl Child for community women on at Anganawadi premises in Ramanahalli near here recently.

The programme was inaugurated by Rekha Mahadev, Gram  Panchayat  President, Rammanahalli. Issues like gender equality, importance of girls’ education, accessibility of health services and early marriages were discussed.

International Day Of The Girl Child was also celebrated in association with Rotary Ivory City Mysuru  at  Anganawadi  premises in Hanchya in the taluk. This programme was inaugurated by Shobha Nagaraj, Community Services Director, Rotary Ivory City Mysuru.

D.S. Shashikumar, Hon. Secretary, FPA India, Mysuru Branch presided over both the events. Kumaraswamy, Gram  Panchayat President, Hanchya and others were present on the occasion.
