International Women’s Day Celebrations:Various organisations fete women achievers

As part of International Women’s Day, Vishwa Shanthi Seva Samsthe had organised a function to felicitate women achievers in various fields at Vokkaligara Bhavan in Vidyaranyapuram here on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Karnataka Police Academy (KPA) Deputy Director Dr. Dharanidevi Malagatti observed that of late, women were voicing against harassment and oppression but sought a stronger reaction.

She suggested socially secure and able women to unite and form a team and commended the organisation for honouring women who had excelled in various fields.

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) SP B.T. Kavitha, singer G. Rajalakshmi Sridhar, Nruthyagiri Director Vidu. Kripa Phadke, Ophthalmologist Dr. Uma Ravishankar, Mysore Mahila Vedike President Sumana Raghunandan, Chartered Accountant Annapoorna Srikanth, journalist Latha Mohan, Notary Shobha and artist B.S. Indira were felicitated on the occasion.

The programme was launched by journalist P. Shilpa. Vishwa Shanthi Seva Samsthe President Shanthi D. Avaradhi presided.

MCC Zone-3 Assistant Commissioner Roopa, VTU Asst. Professor Dr. P. Sandhya, Sneha Spandana Mahila Mandali President Vijaya Radhakrishna, Programme Convenor Prathibha Gururaj and others were present.

Suvarna Ladies Club: Rajyadharma Editor Kavita, gynaecologist Dr. Sujata N. Rao, entrepreneur Priyadarshini, Suvarna Ladies Club Secretary Roopa Sampath Kumar and Cultural Secretary Asha Adimurthy were felicitated at a programme organised by Suvarna Ladies Club, Mysuru, at Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha on JLB Road in city, to mark International Women’s Day celebrations. Club President Indumathi, cine actor Nethra, Rajarajeshwari, Amreen Taj, Rajeshwari Anand, Vijayashri and Nandini were present.

Sri Chayadevi  B.Ed College: Karnataka Police Academy (KPA) Dy. Director Dr. Dharanidevi Malagatti and Music University VC Dr. Sarvamangala Shankar are seen lighting the lamp to inaugurate Women’s Day celebrations organised at Sri Chayadevi B.Ed College, Rajendranagar, in city recently. Poet Jayappa Honnali and College Principal Dr. J.C. Nagendra are also seen.
