Mysore/Mysuru: In two separate cases, Mysuru City Police have arrested five people allegedly involved in IPL cricket betting.
In the first case, Devaraja Police arrested three persons while they were allegedly involved in betting during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) match on May 7 at the parking area located behind Town Hall.
The arrested have been identified as Sanjay Kumar, 33, a resident of Mandi Mohalla; P.P. Vinod, 32, a resident of Yelwal and Likhith Kumar, 27, a resident of Paduvarahalli.
The Police have recovered three mobile phones, a Mercedes Benz car and Rs. 15,900 cash. A case has been registered at Devaraja Police Station.
In another case, Hebbal Police arrested two persons also involved in IPL betting on May 7 during the RCB and LSG match.
Acting on a tip-off, the Police conducted a raid on a room located at the third floor of MSR Hotel and found the accused illegally running online betting racket and arrested M. Pradeep, 30, a resident of R.S. Naidu Nagar and H.S. Praful Arya, 21, a resident of Hebbal.
The Police have also recovered a laptop and three mobile phones from the accused.
