IPL to commence from Mar. 23

Mumbai: The 18th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) will commence from Mar. 23 and the final match will be played on May 25. Announcing this to the media persons after the Special General Meeting, Board of Control for Cricket India (BCCI) Vice-President Rajeev Shukla said, “The IPL will begin from Mar. 23.”

The premier tournament will commence two weeks after the ICC Champions Trophy which ends on Mar. 9. With respect to second edition of Women’s Premier League (WPL) Shukla said that the BCCI would be held from Feb. 7 to Mar. 2.

He added that the BCCI would soon finalise on the venues. Shukla said that BCCI would also announce the men’s team for the upcoming Champions Trophy after the selection committee meeting on Jan. 18 or 19.
