A horrific experience on Train 12577…
Sir,
I wish to bring to the notice of the public and the Railway authorities the appalling state of the 12577 Bagmati Express, which arrived in Mysuru, a Royal City, on Thursday, 19th March 2026.
While Mysuru consistently ranks among the cleanest cities in India, the trains entering our station tell a different story.
Upon boarding at Bengaluru at 5.10 pm, I found the coaches in a state of total neglect, littered with plastic bottles and stinking trash, looking more like a landfill than a Superfast Express.
The toilets were unusable and the stench was unbearable.
Furthermore, despite being a ‘Superfast’ service, the train crawled from Mandya to Mysuru, taking 1 hour and 25 minutes to cover just 45 kms. This is an insult to passengers who pay ‘Superfast’ surcharges only to be delayed by poor path management. If the Railways cannot maintain hygiene standards for trains coming from Darbhanga, they should consider terminating these ‘trash-carriers’ at Bengaluru instead of bringing the filth into Mysuru. Our city’s reputation & our health should not be compromised by Railways’ inability to manage on-board housekeeping.
