Mysuru: ISHRAE@NIEIT, the student chapter of ISHRAE — Indian Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning — was inaugurated by P.V. Bharadhwaj, President, ISHRAE Mysore Chapter, at a programme organised by the Department of Mechanical Engineering of NIE-IT at NIE-IT campus in city recently.
Bharadwaj administered the oath of the Society.
T.A. Prabhakar, Secretary of ISHRAE Mysore Chapter, briefed about the Society and presented the certificate of recognition to the Principal. In all, 40 students enrolled as members of the society and the office-bearers of the Chapter were elected.
Dr. T. Ananthapadmanabha, Principal, NIEIT, delivered the presidential remarks emphasising the importance of refrigeration and air-conditioning and the need for micro systems in this area.
The inaugural session was followed by a technical session on ‘Recent trends and opportunities in Refrigeration and HVAC’ by Dr. Y.S. Varadarajan, Professor of I&PE, NIE Mysuru.
Dr. T. Jayaraju, HoD, Mechanical Engineering, NIE-IT, welcomed the gathering.
Dr. Y.S. Varadarajan, Professor I&PE, NIE Mysuru, Prabhakar, Secretary, ISHRAE Mysore Chapter, N. Sudarshan, Faculty Advisor, ISHRAE@NIEIT and other members of ISHRAE were present during the occasion.
