Mysuru: Even individuals drawing good salaries in IT, BT are participating in theatre activities which is a matter of delight, said senior theatre artiste Sripad Bhat.
He was speaking on the occasion of World Theatre Day and Bharatiya Ranga Shikshana Kendra’s annual theatre festival held at Bhoomigeeta in Rangayana premises yesterday.
“A person would sense brotherhood if we stand with him during his misery and we will learn to foster by helping someone when he is in pain. Theatre education should teach an actor who come from diverse background to don the role of protagonist in the plays, otherwise it is of no use,” he opined.
Speaking on the occasion, senior theatre artiste Shashidhar Bharighat said: “There are several Theatre Schools in the Theatre World and hundreds of students are getting graduating from these schools. Having interest in theatre is of paramount importance. I could have got a job in Education Department. Then, I did not even have an idea why people take up theatre education. Gradually, I started understanding everything. It became very vital as to how I would find my opportunities,” Bharighat said. “The way we think and the talent and ethics we develop may differ from generation to generation. We may become role model to one another or may not. It is even linked to our life. Many have built their lives in theatre itself,” he said.
S. Ramnath of Bharatiya Ranga Shikshana Kendra was present.
