Jain Women’s Conference in Shravanabelagola from Aug.11

Mysuru: Gomateshwara Bhagawan Bahubali Mahamastakabhisheka Mahotsav Committee and Shravanabelagola Digambar Jain Mutt Committee have organised a three-day National Jain Women’s Conference at Patta Mahadevi Shantala Sabha Mantap in Shravanabelagola, Hassan district, from Aug.11 to 13.

Disclosing this at a press meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan here this morning, Reception Committee Chairperson Sheela Anantharaj said that the theme of the Conference will be ‘Role of Women in Protection of Culture.’

She added that the Conference will be inaugurated by Puducherry Governor Kiran Bedi and presided over by Hemavati Veerendra Heggade from Dharmasthala.

Continuing, Sheela Anantharaj said that about 2,500 delegates and scholars are expected to participate in the Conference which will have seminars on various current topics.

She added that various women achievers would be felicitated during the valedictory programme on Aug.13.

The valedictory address will be delivered by writer Dr. Kamala Hampana, Minister Umashree would be the chief guest, she said.

Committee General Secretary Latha Sudarshan and Assistant Secretary Nirmala Bharatraj were present at the press meet.
