JD(S) candidate dies a day before counting of votes

Hunsur: In an unfortunate incident, JD(S) candidate Honnalagaiah (54), who contested from Ward 17 of Hunsur City Municipal Council (CMC), died yesterday, just a day before the counting.

Honnalagaiah was travelling on his motorcycle (KA-09 HJ-2910)on Bachahalli Road to pick up his wife from his farmland last evening, when he lost balance and crashed into a drainage along the road near Chikkahunsur lake. Honnalagaiah, who sustained serious injuries in the mishap died on the spot.

Honnalagiah lost the CMC Polls, the counting of which was taken up this morning.
