Mysuru: Former Minister and Senior JD(S) leader P.G.R. Sindhia has said that the reservation quota for backward classes will be hiked to over 60 percent from the existing 50 percent, if the party was voted to power in the forthcoming Assembly polls.
Addressing a press meet at Dasara Exhibition Ground yesterday, Sindhia who is here to attend a JD(S) meeting, declared that the JD(S) was committed to rendering justice to all communities.
Referring to Chief Minister Siddharmaiah’s remark that JD(S) Supremo H.D. Deve Gowda was not responsible for his political growth, Sindhia, coming down heavily on the CM, asserted that it was H.D. Deve Gowda who was responsible for the CM’s Ministerial and Deputy CM posts in the past.
Continuing his tirade on the CM, Sindhia said that Siddharamaiah’s arrogance coming with power, would certainly let him down in the forthcoming Assembly polls.
He also expressed confidence that the JD(S) would come to power with a full majority. Former MP A.H. Vishwanath and others were present.
